Who played last night? Yep.

No, Pete didn't just have a back spasm, he's too busy chopping out sweet chords on a red strat. The Who minus Two (my new name for them) played Tuesday night at the Fieldhouse, where the Pacers routinely disappoint fans. The Who did not disappoint. I thought the sound was very good. Daltrey's voice sounded a littled over worked, and Simon Townsend hit all the high notes for him. Pete was singing and playing like a man my age, 41. OK, so it was my first time to see one of my favorite bands (songwriters) and I'm still a bit giddy. The set list didn't disappoint either. Looks like they're playing the same songs each night to a very cool 4-piece video panel behind the stage. I ordered a dvd/cd set of the show which they are selling for all of em. Isn't Pete the headling speaker at SXSW this year? Brother-in-law Jim came over from Ill-shizzle and we met up with Brett, Joe, Brian, John, MJ, Joel & Amy for pre and post show analysis and butt-slappin. Gimme five, dude.

And the fun didn't end. When we returned to Jim's car, parked outside the restaurant where we ate before the show, some really bad person had taken a large chunk of asphalt and crushed the windshield of his new Honda accord. If you can imagine this scene at 1am with Jim and Joel on board, retrospective laughter is necessary. I told Brett it was like watching Hannity and Colmes argue supply side economics. Hysterical. Fortunately, fate was good to Jim as the windshield was the only casualty. Who ticket $140, new windshield $250, hanging with the gang, priceless.
